    A powerful issue

    Constructing battery packs from standard Li-Ion battery sizes, such as 18650’s, has always been quite a challenge – that is, without some good spot welding capabilities and rather extensive facilities.

    That’s changing lately. In recent months we’ve seen -with some more or less successful samples on YouTube- commercial “kit” systems that enables one to create one’s own battery packs. Some of them however are not of the best quality, leading to bad contacts, and batteries nor discharging or charging properly, overheating problems and whatnot. All of that of course not exactly helpful when it comes to safely and effectively using “homebrew” battery packs.

    A Potentially Neat Solution

    That reliability (and afford-ability) aspect may be about to change. This isn’t a product endorsement of any kind, mind you -here at RG we are, after all, far too negative for such things, according to some remarkable individuals- but I thought it was, as our American friends say, a rather neat solution.
