    New storage cell for solar energy storage

    This is an old story, but many other companies are now gearing up to 3D print buildings. Low cost 3D printed houses saves energy, time, labor and uses recycled resources.

    images (84)A Chinese company  Winsun last year  demonstrated the capabilities of its giant 3D printer by rapidly constructing 10 houses in less than 24 hours. Built from predominantly recycled materials, these homes cost less than US$5,000 and could be rolled out en masse to ease housing crises in developing countries.

    This technology is now heading world wide to at least 26 countries.

    Rather than printing the homes in one go, Winsun’s 3D printer creates building blocks by layering up a cement/glass mix in structural patterns . The diagonally reinforced print pattern leaves plenty of air gaps to act as insulation. These blocks are printed in a central factory and rapidly assembled on site.


    Recycled Materials

    Winsun built houses with a 3D Printer,which is 20 feet tall, 33 feet wide and 132 feet long in less than 24 hours. The parts, such as frame, wall were printed separately. Such a new type of 3D-printed structure is environment-friendly and cost-effective. All materials used were created from recycled construction waste, industrial waste and tailings. They produce a mix of cement and construction waste to construct the walls layer by layer, a process much like how a baker might ice a cake. They also plan to building 100 recycling facilities around China to help keep us with demand.


    Printed From Special Ink

    Using a CAD design as a template, a computer controls a mechanical extruder arm to lay down concrete, which is treated with special hardeners so that each layer is strong enough to support the next. one wall at a time. The pieces are subsequently joined together at a construction site. These walls have a diagonal reinforced print pattern inside it that leaves plenty air gaps to act as insulation assembled on site.

    The walls are printed from special ink. The special 3D printing ink are extracted and purified from fine natural stone, plus High quality cement and fiber, with much higher strength and toughness than that of high grade concrete and common wall materials.
    1. The 3D-printed Walls won’t cracks, and are of strong water proofing, better air permeability, better heat preservation and low carbon pollution.
    2. The wall is produced in a fully-digital way, no ways to cut corners, with errors as small as in millimeter.
    3. The quality is highly improved, about 50 percent lighter than common construction material.
